Whether you’re looking to put your RV away for the year or just getting it out to enjoy some fall camping, please RV tips for cleaning. Your RV will come in handy. Below, we will show you our favorite RV tips for keeping your RV looking great all year long. Learn more below.
Use RV-Friendly Cleaners for the Roof and Outer Walls
First and foremost, anytime you are cleaning the exterior of your RV, be sure you are using RV-friendly detergents. Using the wrong type of cleaner on your RV can strip the sealant and result in damage to your RV’s protective coatings. If you can’t find an RV-safe cleaner, warm water, and a soft rag are what we recommend.
Regularly Deep-Clean the Tanks
One of the things you don’t want to neglect in your RV is cleaning the gray and black water tanks. Be sure you take time to deep clean these every time you travel. If your RV has a black tank cleaner, this process will be fairly straightforward. Otherwise, you might have to look up some tips on getting your RV black tank clean.
Clear Out and Clean Appliances After Every Trip
Another thing you want to keep up with us after every trip to the campground is cleaning out and wiping down all of your appliances. When RVs are left sitting for long periods of time, they run the risk of pests, like mice and bugs, moving in. Keeping your appliances and pantries cleaned out is an excellent way to avoid this problem.
Don’t Forget Your AC Filters
One of the things that is most commonly forgotten about in RVs is the AC filters. Not regularly cleaning your AC filter can severely reduce the effectiveness of your AC when you need it the most. If you’re using the air conditioner regularly, we recommend cleaning the filter once every two weeks. Otherwise, you can get away with cleaning it after each trip to the campground.
Keep Cleaning Supplies in Each Room
One of my favorite tips for making cleaning the RV easy is to keep a set of cleaning supplies for basic tidying and wiping down surfaces in each room. We keep a set of cleaning supplies underneath our RV sink and in the RV’s bathroom so that while we’re getting ready for bed, we can tidy up. After dinner, it’s easy to wipe down all the counters because all the supplies are within arms reach.
